Tests involved completely discharging the battery by performing each of the following tasks: video playback and web browsing over a Wi‑Fi or cellular network (cellular models paired with an LTE and 5G mobile data plan). The video content was a 2-hour and 23-minute movie looped and purchased from the iTunes Store. Web browsing tests over Wi‑Fi or cellular were conducted using a dedicated web server and involved simulating browsing on 20 popular websites. All settings were set to their default values, except for the following: Wi‑Fi was connected to a network (except for web browsing over a cellular network), the Wi‑Fi “Confirm Access” feature and automatic brightness adjustment were disabled, brightness was set to 50%, and WPA2 encryption was enabled. Battery life depends on device settings, usage, the network, and many other factors. Battery tests are conducted on specific iPad units; actual results may vary.
